Orthopedic Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation

From tight muscles from workouts to neck pain while sitting at work, not all injuries occur on the field, but in everyday life as well. Our team has your solution for everyday aches, pain and overuse injuries. Education is paramount in your rehabilitation. True Sports Physical Therapy will talk with you and learn the cause of an injury, develop ways to rehabilitate the injury, and recommend a plan to prevent future injury. These steps are essential to returning to activities without pain. Read More.

Dry Needling & Cupping Therapy

The therapists at True Sports Physical Therapy use dry needling as another tool in the comprehensive treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. The well-researched notion of trigger points and their referred pain patterns can be causes for such diagnoses as hip bursitis, carpal tunnel, osteoarthritis, tendonitis and a host of other maladies. The process uses thin acupuncture needles to create microtrauma into the offending tissues. This technique jump starts the body’s own healing processes as well as releases hard to reach trigger points. By decreasing muscle spasm and nerve compression, dry needling is an additional method to get you back to your sport – without pain. The results are impressive. After only a few treatments, patients experience pain relief, increased range of motion and an accelerated return to their sport.

Cupping is a traditional Chinese medicine practice that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. This practice dates back over 2,000 years and is still being utilized today by world-class athletes for injury relief. The cupping effect of suction on the skin helps increase blood flow and promotes healing. The experts at True Sports are certified in this technique and can integrate it into your recovery program when needed. Read More.

Olympic Weightlifting

The technical skill required to properly perform the Olympic lifts cannot be overstated and the need for proper coaching becomes apparent if proficiency is to be achieved in arguably the single, best movements for the development of athletic prowess. The time investment into properly learning the Olympic lifts and its variations are well worth your effort as few exercises in a training regimen can develop the explosiveness (RFD), coordination, and whole-body strength that the Olympic lifts do in a single movement while mimicking the change of direction demands that so many sports require. Manual Therapy

Manual physical therapy is a specialized form of physical therapy delivered with the hands as opposed to a device or machine. True Sports physical therapists have extensive continuing education in manual therapy to compliment our sports rehab knowledge. Our advanced techniques allow patients to return to their desired levels of activity faster and safer by decreasing their pain and restrictions. Read More.

Blood Flow Restriction

True Sports Physical Therapy is proud to offer Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training to our athletes. BFR is a painless cutting-edge rehabilitation technique that involves temporarily decreasing venous blood flow during exercise. Traditionally, in order to build muscle and gain strength, one would have to train by lifting heavy weights. Unfortunately, this isn’t feasible for many patients in the physical therapy setting, particularly those who have recently had surgery. With BFR training, one can exercise with significantly lighter weights while still creating the same hypertrophy and strength response as if they were lifting heavy weights. The result – earlier muscle growth allowing for faster progress, which ultimately means getting you back on the field quicker and stronger than ever. Read More.
